My sitemap isn't generating

I must be doing something wrong, my sitemap won't generate. I get this:

No data received
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.

Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

I have more than enough php memory, i have the empty xml files in the root directory of the url i'm scanning. They're 777.

What else is there?
