/generator redirect?

Installed the standalone version, following instructions. Double checked that the server runs php scripts, etc.  When I go the [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ] it redirects me to the homepage?

Any clue? where to start troubleshooting?

please try to open it as [ External links are visible to logged in users only ]

Also, you can tryt to create ".htaccess" file in generator folder with one line:
RewriteEngine off

That worked! I can see the sitemap now, thank you!!
Also, regarding the htaccess... can I just add the one line it my regular htaccess file ....which is stored in the same public directory?

It should be in generator/ folder.
