Refresshing a Stalled Crawl

My extended crawl keeps stalling into inactivity.

Can you add a mod which commits a refresh during times of inactivity?

Crawl Sticking For Extended Periods

Having set up a crawl - the process still gets suspended not actually continuing for extended periods.
