I created my sitemap, then verified it with your verification tool. It says:

XML Validation Results (www.w3.org)

Characer Set   utf-8
Sitemap is valid   NO

and

I have 10001 of these lines:
Missing xmlns attribute for element html. The value should be: [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Don't understand. Appreciate some help, thanks.

I had no html file, so I renamed the sitemap.xml to sitemap.html but that did nothing to correct the problem. I noticed when changing it to html it becomes a Firefox html document, but opens with Explorer. Could that be the problem?

My original files were sitemap.xml, sitemap.xml.gz, sitemap_news, sitemap_video, sitemap_images (which all 3 are xml files) and urllist.txt.gz file. Did not have any sitemap.html file originally.

Sorry, doesn't work - here's what I get

XML Validation Results (www.w3.org)
[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because its content type
is application/x-gzip, which is
not currently supported by this service.

You need to submit it to google: [ External links are visible to logged in users only ]
Validator doesn't support compressed files.

ok, thanks

How do I get an html sitemap?

My original files were sitemap.xml, sitemap.xml.gz, sitemap_news, sitemap_video, sitemap_images (which all 3 are xml files) and urllist.txt.gz file.

Did not have any sitemap.html file originally.

Dear Admin,

I am able to validate the sitemap but with 2 warnings

Warnings
Missing "charset" attribute for
"text/xml" document.
No DOCTYPE found! Checking XML syntax only.

Is it necessary to resolve this issue. If yes, how?

Thank you.
