Running generator on Umbraco site

I've added the necessary files to our site and now found that I can't navigate to the generator directory to configure it. Our site is Umbraco based so even though PHP is supported on our domain, Umbraco is not letting me access the service. Any ideas?

please try to create a file name ".htaccess" in generator/ folder with one line:
RewriteEngine off

Sadly no change. I'm going to uninstall and try an alternative.
