How to update sitemap manually

I have created a new sitemap and I would like to update it manually after fixing the 404 errors, but I cannot get it to update the sitemap.xml by manually run the crawler.

what is the issue you get when running it manually?

It just refreshes the original sitemap.xml that I created but it does not show that the 404 error have been fixed.
