sitemap update

Hi,

I own a site with 200,000+ pages and site map generator works for 60+ hours to finish the job.
The problem is every time the script starts it rewrites my site map. Is there a possibility to refresh the site map with the newest pages only instead of starting the generation over every single time?

sitemap generator needs to run from the start since new pages can be linked anywhere on the site.

Thanks for the reply, the logic is understandable. Do you have any tips how can we optimize the generation process (like creating news site map daily and full site map weekly)?

Is there a way to make different kind of site maps (images, news, etc.) on different days?

the only way is to setup a second instance of sitemap generator for news sitemap (it will also create regular xml sitemap but you can just not use it if you don't want to).
