Other bug in sitemap generator

Hi all  happy new year 2007,

sitemap generator does not deleting the html sitemap pages that are not needed
lets say that the crawler has generated 10 html sitemap pages for a classifieds website that has 10.000 ads
next time the website have only 8.000 ads the crawler generate 8 html sitemap pages only
and do not delete the html pages number 9 and 10.
but google still coming to crawl these tow html pages (number 9 and 10)!!!!

please try to fix

sitemap generator doesn't remove any files on the server to avoid possible data loss - imagine if sitemap10.html was your own file that you keep on the server for a purpose.
Also, usually the number of pages never decreases.

Can you please make this option possible in the config file so that we can put it on/off ?
