Exclude URL format

I have a number of PDFs that continue to showup in the sitemap, even though the files do not exist and I cannot find any link to them. Reviewing the enitire log file, the only thing that calls for the files are Bots!

I tried to exclude the URLs in the config using this format:
[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Please, what is the proper format?  Or any other tip.

files/1513/5152/6707/something.pdf

Thanks, I tried the suggested format without the domain.  The files still showup in the sitemap.

Any other ideas?
