sitemap is empty

Hi I followed the installation pdf on my mac. I moved the sitemap and ror.xml files to my root directory. I opened up the standalone site map generator and didn't change any of the configuration provided (autofilled by the program), and clicked save. Then I checked the site map url but it comes up empty. What am i missing?

Sorry, but I'm not sure how to proceed? It's still empty and would love some help troubleshooting or else this purchase is all for naught! TIA.

you should open "Crawling" page of sitemap generator and click "Run" button.
