Excluding Thumbnails From Sitemap Question
« on: December 05, 2014, 07:25:10 PM »
Hi All, Great sitemap generator. Very happy with it.

I have a couple of questions. My site has alot of thumbnail images that are 145 x 145. They are smaller / cropped versions of their parent images. Do I want to have all of the thumbnails included in the sitemap? Does including them dilute the chances of getting index for the bigger images?

How can one exclude the thumbnail urls. Is there a way to do it automatically based on file size or something like that? I don't even mind adding the data manually, I just don't know how to approach this. Thoughts?

Please let me know, thanks!

1. including thumbnails in images sitemap wouldn't do anything bad.

2. you can exclude them if they have similar filenames (URLs), for instance if all of them are stored in thumbnails/ folder, you can specify "thumbnails/" in Exclude URLs setting.
