xs_chlog 0 or 1?

Hi.  I upgraded to version 7, and it seems to run fine.  However, I see that default.conf has
        <option name="xs_chlog">0</option>
but my generator.conf now has
        <option name="xs_chlog">1</option>
I do not see where in the setup page this has been set.  What is happening now with xs_chlog set to 1?

Is there a URL that details what each <option ...></option> line does?

xs_chlog corresponds to "Calculate changelog" setting.
We recommend to use Configuration page to update settings and not modify config file directly.
