if you mean "pubDate" attribute, then it's set to the time when sitemap was created in case if your website doesn't include the date in http header or html meta tag.

No, meant date under class="lastUpdated" tag which is present multiple times erroneously in rss feed page generated by Standalone Sitemap Generator in the link as described above.

When you use Ctrl U to see source yes. However, if you look with an rss reader such as Firefox (Win or Ubuntu) or Outlook then you will see multiple articles consisted with nothing but date, the code in DOM (in RSS Firefox, by select problem then right click - View Selection Source): <div xmlns="[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]" class="lastUpdated">25 December 2014 9:51 PM</div>
Last one, after about Linksys, duplicated 11 times!

It can be fixed on the side of your website only. Generator doesn't have details about page publication date unless website provides it.
