Could this "break" a wordpress site?

I installed on a wordpress site. Put everything where it was supposed to go, generated a site map successfully. About an after that the database tables disappeared and the site was down. The site was hosted on a standard GoDaddy shared server (not my choice!). It's been moved to GoDaddy's WordPress hosting (also not my choice). I want to generate a new site but I'm worried that the site will be knocked down again. Had this happened to anyone else?

sitemap generator doesn't connect to any databases on the website as it crawls the site similar to search engine bots, so it couldn't affect databases.
