subdirectory alias not crawled

I have a subdirectory alias in my root directory and it is not being crawled and indexed by Sitemap Generator (everything else gets indexed just fine). I'm using v7.1.

Is there a specific configuration setting where I can change that so that the aliased subdirectory is included?

make sure that there is a link to that folder somewhere on the website so that generator bot can find it.
