Trailing slash at root URL

Hi,

We currently have a problem where the first / root URL is being left with a trailing slash at the end. We're getting:
[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Rather than this, which has been set in the config:
[ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

Is there any way of fixing this? This causes a slight issue as we 301 redirect the forward slash -> no-slash version across multiple sites (50+).

Hello,

both URLs are the same (for the root of domain) and the first version is correctly formatted URL hence added in sitemap.
