Sitemap file is not writable error

I just downloaded the latest version of xml-sitemaps.  I am getting the following error see screenshot [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

I removed the older files from server and uploaded blank versions.  I set permissions to be writable see screenshot [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]

We have used xml-sitemaps on this website for years with no problems. We recently added SSL but I updated the URL in the configuration.

make sure that "Save sitemap to" setting is defined correctly (pointing to actual website folder).
