I am unable to login to the Sitemap Generator Admin/Configurator

I have been successfully using the standalone Sitemap Generator for a couple of months (ver 8.0). I recently converted my website from html page extensions to PHP, and I made a couple of changes to the htaccess file. However, with the recent changes I made to my website, I am unable to login to the Sitemap Generator Admin controls. please try to create a file name ".htaccess" in generator/ folder with one line:
RewriteEngine off
