Set password for accessing index.php

We try to set password for accessing index.php within generator folder using the set login/modify option. But even after we set a login and password it does not ask for username and password while accessing index.php file. What is the correct way of doing it?

Hello,
you are logged in automatically, you need to logout (there is a link at the bottom of sitemap generator pages).
