Installation Problems

I am a complete greenie, but think that I have everything installed in the right folders. I followed the instructions exactly, but when I type in my URL with the word "generator" behind it, it gives me this message:

The website declined to show this webpage
HTTP 403 
   Most likely causes:
This website requires you to log in.

Now I am royally stuck! Can someone give me any insight here??

Possibly you have defined permissions incorrectly, didn't you set permissions yet?

I think what you are talking about is where you change the "data" folder to 777 instead of 666. If so, this could be my problem as every time I change it, it immediately changes it right back to 666. Is there something I need to do to let it change it to 777 and keep the setting?

Do you change it via FTP? Permissions should stay after you define them. Can you ask your host whether they have a special way to define permissions?
