Google Errors

I have generated and downloaded ror sitemaps for 2 sites and have uploaded them within the past 24 hours.  Google gives me the same error on both  "line 3 missing xml tag".  What does this mean?  The google help page is a 404 on this subject.  How do I fix this?

You should submit sitemap.xml to Google, NOT ror sitemap.

Thank you.  I thought that it was a little strange...Ive' done that before with no problems.  But then I watched this tutorial on youtube...
