Replacing "%" and "-" with a space

I have some session variables that I can't seem to get rid of.  Does anyone know how to replace the "%" and "-" symbols with spaces?

you should apply this replacements on your website script, not in sitemap. Otherwise search engine wil still be able to find your non-replaced URLs.
