Editing sitemaps

My site is a sub-site of our organization.  So, a bunch of the pages that the sitemap generator found, are not really related to my site.  Can I edit the results and delete those pages so it only represents the pages from my site and not the pages from the rest of the organization?

yes, you can edit your resulting sitemap.xml file, but make sure you remove entries accurately and do not break the structure of the file.
