Deleting Genrator
« on: July 15, 2009, 07:44:41 PM »
Hi, I have made a mess of the generator folder. I have tried to delete it using Filezilla but I can't get rid of it. I keep getting '550 delete operation failed'. I have tried changing the file permissions but again I can't.

I would like to delete everything and start again. How can I do it?

Any help most welcome.

Hello,

try to set permissions for that folder to 0777 first, then delete it.

I tried that. The generator folder will change to 777 but the sub folders and files will not?

Can I just upload over the old files?

You should keep generator folder at 0755, try to rename the folder and then create another folder named "generator".

this is because of -you login to ftp with diferent user/group then created files in ftp..config your filezilla to show owner of files and you will see that owner is NOT you so you cannot edit those files. they're created by script to owner will be apache..you need to reset owner for those files.
