Sitemap Generator Forum

Hello,

I seem to be having the same problem I've had before - I only end up with one page indexed? Can someone please take a look? Site is [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ].

Hi there,

I have uploaded my site map to my root directory http/docs folder but the page looks awful. See [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]. What am I doing wrong? No format as you can see.

I have already added my site to google but how do I upload my sitemap? No clear and direct instructions for a novice, just frustrating information.

I am keen to find out where my broken links are but want to ensure that this works properly first.

your sitemap looks fine, xml sitemaps don't need formatting. Just make sure to submit it in webmaster account:
[ External links are visible to logged in users only ]

I found the instructions for downloading a sitemap on google.

Before you begin, make sure you have the following sites added and verified in your Webmaster Tools account:

    * the site on which the Sitemap is located
    * the site(s) whose URLs are referenced in the Sitemap

   1. Upload your Sitemap to your site.
   2. On the Webmaster Tools home page, click the site you want.
   3. Under Site configuration, click Sitemaps.
   4. In the text box, complete the path to your Sitemap (for example, if your Sitemap is at [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ], type sitemap.xml).
   5. Click Submit Sitemap.

I cannot find the Site Configuration link google talks about. My site has been verified by google but no link to submit my sitemap. Any suggestions please?  Google is so frustrating. They talk about easy maps but they have you all over the place.

1. open [ External links are visible to logged in users only ] page
2. click "add a site", enter your domain name and submit it
3. click on your site url in the list
4. you will be asked to verify site ownership: [ External links are visible to logged in users only ]
5. after that you will see "Site Configuration" link on the left side menu in webmaster account
