Service Unavailable after 3-4 minutes of crawling

Hello, the sitemap generator has been working fine on my website, until now when I get the message: SERVICE UNAVAILABLE after I start the crawling process.   The website itself goes down as well with the same message.

When i start the crawling it seems to wok ok, I get a screen that says scanned X pages, X left or something like it.  The website is a shared hosting account.  If the problem is with any type of firewall setting i need to be specific on exactly what needs to happen, but at this poing i'm not sure.

try to close browser and reopen it, it's likely that you get the message because there is still an open connection with your host since sitemap generator did no finish the task.

Still does not work. Is there a log generated during crawling that i can use to see what might be going on?

you can check regular apache error log, there are no logs epcific to sitemap generator.
