Why not submit ROR and html sitemap

i am asking a question.

Why not submit ROR and html sitemap format in server but submit xml and txt format.pls give me the proper answer.

You only need submit sitemap.xml now.

The other files were from a time when not all search engines accepted sitemap.xml files but now they do so they are all redundant.
