Empty titles in sitemap.html
« on: July 10, 2010, 02:25:11 PM »
My sitemap.html file includes titles only for the first 60 entries. There are title tags in all the pages and I cannot understand what's wrong.

The Ror-File is here:

[external links are visible to admins only]
On my Website the ROR Feed is Invalid :  [external links are visible to admins only]

i think for this is the Problem the Utf-8 Encoding.
I choose "UTF8 charset" an the ror.xml becomes invalid state, i unset "UTF8 charset" and the ror is valid.

The Code must allways secure the XML-Structur, e.g. no '<' chars in '<'   (XML-Entities) !

I can not use the Ror-Feature for a Website with Differenct CharSets  ( utf8, iso88xxx ) ????
So all my Special Chars ( ,,.. ) are not correct in Sitemap.

The problem before still exist - missing a lot of titles.

Greetings
Michael

Hi,

you can write [external links are visible to admins only] in front of Example Data.

e.g.
[external links are visible to admins only]
[external links are visible to admins only]

You can also check the ror.xml in your Webbrowser:

[external links are visible to admins only]

There are many Line's without a Title. There are also the Links ( '->' ) to the pages without titles.

It works fine for 20-30 Pages, but after this there are no titles.

Greetings
Micha

Do you have anything defined in "Do not parse URLs" setting?

Hi,

the setting is currently for a phpForum, but i tried also leave all blank - all not works..

Exclude URLs:
p=
mode=
mark=
order=
highlight=
view=previous
view=next
view=unread
/profile.php
/privmsg.php
/posting.php
/search.php

Do not parse URLs:
view=print

In the Sitemap, HTML, Ror are all Links but on mostly Links missing titles. So i think the 'crawling' works fine, but when/where/what set the titles in HTML,ROR,... ?!

e.g. in XML-Sitemap.xml :
Code: [external links are visible to admins only]
  <url>
       <loc>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95</loc>
       <lastmod>2011-03-17T07:05:11+00:00</lastmod>
       <priority>0.6400</priority>
  </url>
  <url>
       <loc>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95&amp;start=10</loc>
       <lastmod>2011-03-17T07:05:11+00:00</lastmod>
       <priority>0.6400</priority>
  </url>
  <url>
       <loc>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95&amp;start=20</loc>
       <lastmod>2011-03-17T07:05:11+00:00</lastmod>
       <priority>0.6400</priority>
  </url>
  <url>
       <loc>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95&amp;start=30</loc>
       <lastmod>2011-03-17T07:05:11+00:00</lastmod>
       <priority>0.6400</priority>
  </url>

This in HTML-SiteMap:
Code: [external links are visible to admins only]
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95&start=10
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95&start=20
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95&start=30

This in ror.xml :
Code: [external links are visible to admins only]
  <item>
       <link>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95</link>
       <title></title>
       <ror:updatePeriod></ror:updatePeriod>
       <ror:sortOrder>2</ror:sortOrder>
       <ror:resourceOf>sitemap</ror:resourceOf>
  </item>
  <item>
       <link>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95&amp;start=10</link>
       <title></title>
       <ror:updatePeriod></ror:updatePeriod>
       <ror:sortOrder>2</ror:sortOrder>
       <ror:resourceOf>sitemap</ror:resourceOf>
  </item>
  <item>
       <link>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95&amp;start=20</link>
       <title></title>
       <ror:updatePeriod></ror:updatePeriod>
       <ror:sortOrder>2</ror:sortOrder>
       <ror:resourceOf>sitemap</ror:resourceOf>
  </item>
  <item>
       <link>http://forum.mmajunke.de/viewtopic.php?f=2&amp;t=95&amp;start=30</link>
       <title></title>
       <ror:updatePeriod></ror:updatePeriod>
       <ror:sortOrder>2</ror:sortOrder>
       <ror:resourceOf>sitemap</ror:resourceOf>
  </item>

Where are the titles !?   The Problem is not that i missing Links, i missing titles ! This is very  important for the ror.xml. It occurs in HTML and Ror Sitemap.

Greetings
Michael

oh no.. i afraid i found the Problem and thus aBug  :(

Have a deeper look at this link contained in the Sitemap.xml :
[external links are visible to admins only]

here --->>  f=2&amp;t=95&amp;start=10

The XML-SiteMapGenerator stores the & as an HTML-Entity, but it is part of the Link !!! And therefore only Links with an second,third.. Parameter have not Titel !

So i believe, if the Tool read the Title with the URL from the Sitemap.xml then an error occurs because this Link not exist !

That is a Bug !??!

For now my completly Sitemap for my Forum are invalid, because the Second Parameter t= is the Thema, the first Parameter f= is the Forum and so on...  What can i do ?????

Greetings
Micha

Hello,

all links in sitemap are urlencoded, so that is correct way to store URLs and that's not a problem.
Please let me know your generator URL/login in private message to check this.
