Sitemaps contain links from directory below install?

I have several VSITES that are similar.

All have REWRITE ON

All have GENERATOR installed at SITE ROOT.

All have created sitemaps as expected.

EXCEPT ONE

One site has generator installed ABOVE ROOT.
domain.com/directoryX/

DirectoryX has no links from or to  site root.

PROBLEM

All sitemaps created starting at directoryX include links at ROOT level (below directoryX)?

"only the links within the starting directory will be included"

Hello,

you can create a small html file in domain root linking to that directory and use that file as Starting URL for generator (if I understanc correctly what you mean).
