Changing sitemap directory.... does it help crawl?
« on: November 22, 2006, 01:36:26 AM »
I'm sure this has been asked before, but here goes.

If my sitemap is currently located here:
http://www.mydomain-name.com/generator/data/sitemap.html

Will crawling or Google be affect if it resides in the root directory, here:
http://www.mydomain-name.com/sitemap.html

Any benefit to having it in the root?

Hello,

html sitemap can be located in any folder. Relocating it into domain root may be looking better for human visitors though.
