error message finding generator

But can't reach the generator for adjustments.
Goes to error file.   [website/generator/]

Checked host and 3 sets of permission are okay 666,666,777

what exactly is the error you get when open generator/ ?

Sends to error page which seems to be my 500.shtml file.
Anyway to get this problem fixed?
