Multiple Sitemap Organization

Hello,

Quick question for you. If we have a sitemap.xml & sitemap-blog.xml, should all of the URL's in the sitemap-blog.xml file also be included the sitemap.xml?

And that's the case even if we're using separate sitemaps for different categories? E.g. all of our blog URL's will be listed in both "sitemap.xml" and "sitemap-blog.xml"?

Just to clarify, in the scenario above the URL's in sitemap-blog.xml should not be included in sitemap.xml, correct?

Is it best practices to include the same URL's in two different sitemaps? I thought that if we had a specific sitemap for our blog, we would place all blog URL's within it, while leaving them out in the main sitemap.
