Generator won't start. Only offers to download a file.

I've used XML Sitemap for several years and never had a problem. Today I added the files as usual and set permissions. When I tried to access the generator url all I receive is a download and the program doesn't start. I re-installed and still have the same problem.  Since this is a .mobi site and I wasn't sure that might be a problem, I tried running the free version from the XML Site Generator page and it completed successfully.  Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

please try to remove generator, reinstall it and run generator without changing permissions.

I re downloaded the program and extracted it. Removed the generator from the site and uploaded the new one. Still get a download instead of the generator starting. I use the generator on several other sites and it works as expected.
