just bought this and need help

I just loaded this on the server Standalone XML Sitemap Generator and now realize that is all I understand of getting this going. Should have paid the extra $10 and will if someone here can help?

I have the files loaded on the server and the permissions set per instructions, just dont know how to execute the program and look at the log files???

Last part is:

I am getting a Page Not Found - 404 Error Page for (www.mysite.com/generator)

OK I think I get this ([external links are visible to admins only]) and need to be logged in or something to be on the right page.

But now I have gone beyond this program and went to PRO and got that working.

I have  a few questions??

#1- PRO is saying to put the whole file [ External links are visible to forum administrators only ]
including the .gz into the robots.txt file. Problem with the .gz on the end of the string it does not open as a .xml is this correct to have the .gz in the robots.txt file? By the way I did do it this way, just wondering?

#2- I did an Automatic submit to Google and went through all of the steps until it was completed fully. My question is, do I which I did delete the old sitemap.xml that was on the our server? And why after I did the Automatic submit to Google in webmaster tools the automatic submission is not showing up?

I did the install to spec but can not get generator to open. Can we get some help willing to pay?

#1 yes, it's recommended to submit gzipped sitemap - search engines will recognize it.

#2 you can remove old sitemap now that new one is submitted. You can see details for the sitemap under *.hostedsitemaps.com domain entry in webmaster tools.
