the script does not update the xml sitemaps on the main root

I have installed everything and run the cron. My problem is that the script does not update the xml sitemaps on the main root. It saves inside /generator/data/ then I have to manually copy and paste to the main root.
How can the xml sitemaps on the main root be updated automaticly?
