Password Issue
« on: November 03, 2010, 10:46:38 PM »
We have installed the software on our website. There are "4" dots (....) in the password field . We have tied to remove these and they keep saving back. We have tried from previous post on this forum to remove the password which looks like this  in the generator.conf file below

<option name="xs_password">d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e</option>

When removing this string of letters and number to look like this see below

<option name="xs_password"></option>

and then saving this file. When you reload the configuration page you see this There are "4" dots (....) in the password field  when checking the generator.conf file again you see this kind of stuff again.

<option name="xs_password">d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e</option>

Ok, I give up how are you suppose to fix this issue. It cannot be fixed by writing a new password and saving the configuration file and it cannot be fixed by saving a new password on the configuration tab on the index.php page.

Anyone got an answer for this issue.

I'm having this same issue.  I followed the instructions to remove the password, yet the dots show in the password field of the configuration page.  Was this ever resolved?

Hello,

you should just keep the dots in the field - the password will not changed if you don't modify the password input field.

But I can't login or run the crawler.  It simply bumps me back to the configuration screen.

I tried that.  It simply opens to the same screen.  I enter a username/password and click save.  Page reloads.  Username and Password don't work again and the 4 dots are back in the password field.
