Same homepage indexing only problem - please help
« on: November 08, 2010, 07:01:46 PM »
Hello.
I am having the same problem and would very much appreciate some help. This is my second website created in iweb and my first one encountered no problems with sitemaps. This one I thought I created exactly the same way so am stumped. Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks

Hello,

looks like you main navigation menu is handled with javascript and it's not crawlable for bots, you should turn it to regular html links like <a href=""> to get them indexed.

Hello;
Thanks. Does that mean that all iweb created sites are not indexable?

I suppose not, since the first post mentions that the other site had no issues with sitemap.

I found a very interesting thing.. iweb seems to create an index.html file that redirects to the actual homepage which in iweb is usually inside a folder. If I put all of my website content at the root of site and eliminate the folder and then delete the index.html.. all of my pages are indexed.
I uploaded my sitemap to google and will see what happens.
