Dont have permission to create public_html folder
« on: November 10, 2010, 09:27:11 AM »
Hi

As i dont have the permission to make the public_html folder in the main directory of my server i have made the folder and put it in the httpdocs folder so now its: home/httpdocs/public_html. I have placed the 4 sitemap files into that folder but when i submit it to webmaster tools it says error? ie cant find sitemap

Is that the correct address i need to enter for my sitemap to be found?   ??? i dont know what else to do

thanks

Garry

Hello,

there is no need to create "public_html" folder, you should upload sitemap.xml to your domain root folder (in some cases it's called "public_html", in your case it's "httpdocs")
