Having Several Problems with Generator

Hello,

I read the forum and I have a variety of problems.

Before I upgraded to V5, the crawling ceased to work.  I could start it but it never finished or showed progress.  It was working fine and then it stopped showing progress.

I upgraded, and it still was not showing progress.  I checked permission, and changed generator folder to 777.  Now, when I try the generator url, it redirects to my homepage.

I saw that you recommended added a .htacess to the generator folder with RewriteEngine off.  I did that, but it still redirects.

Can you help me troubleshoot?
