Configuration Page Not Saving
« on: February 16, 2017, 05:24:53 PM »
I followed all the steps in the PDF, changed all the file permissions and still will not save.  I'm on a hostgator VPS and I use https for all my pages.

Figured it out thanks to support.

If your links are being rewritten then add a .htaccess file in the "generator" folder with only this code: RewriteEngine off

This missing file screws me up every time i install the script and forget to add it.

Maybe it should be included as standard in the download?

Hello,

that file is not always required, that's why not included in the installation package.

Please also note that sitemap generator can be used for own personal sites only , i.e. it cannot be used to create sitemaps for 3rd party sites or provided as a service (paid or free): http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/license.html (separate licenses need to be purchased for that)

Every 4-5 months we create blog sites for seo purposes. They are indeed all our own websites. Because the sites are created every so often, that's where the confusion lies. I understand the htaccess file isn't needed in every instance, it's just fustrating it takes me a couple of hours to work it out each time.
